MABA Sponsored Events
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
This event is co-sponsored with the Marshall School District to help celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and promote reading. Volunteers from the local businesses spend time down at the ELC reading an assortment of Dr. Seuss books to the students. After the readings, everyone is invited down to the cafeteria for birthday cake.
Marshall/Waterloo Business Exposition
This event originated in 2002 and since then the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and MABA have joined hands in order to promote an event that will display the goods and services that our local businesses have to offer. Each year has brought something new to this event. This event is a great way to get some recognition for our member’s businesses.

MABA Scholarship Awards
Each year, MABA awards two graduating seniors from Marshall High School with a $250.00 scholarship.
MABA/Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing
Each year MABA and the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce travel to Columbus and square off in a friendly tournament. No need to worry if it gets rained out, the event is also known for some very competitive card playing. Following is a small awards dinner that helps wrap up the evening.
Kid’s Carp Fishing Contest
In association with Tom’s Guns, MABA awards a quarter for every carp caught in the Maunesha River. At the end of the contest, MABA awards prizes to the 3 contestants who caught the most carp.
Fireman’s Festival
In support of our volunteer Fire Department, MABA volunteers, organizes, and sponsors a fish fry stand at Firemen’s Festival. We gladly donate all proceeds to the Firemen. MABA also awards a trophy in the shape of an axe to the best entry in the parade.
Community Circus
Every other year, MABA sponsors the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus’s arrival into town. They deliver two shows, complete with elephants, high wire acts and much more all under the Big Tent. This is a great event for children and parents.
Main Street Mania
In cooperation with the Village, MABA blocks off a section of Marshall’s Main Street (Highway 19) and provides live entertainment, food and refreshments. Through the years this event has grown to include a Silent Auction, a Classic Car Show, Taste of Marshall, a Bean Bag Tournament, and the Marshall Mad Dash fun run. This event is the local businesses way of saying thank you for supporting us!
